When God Says Yes, You Can Rest!

Every Word from God is a promise—and when God says “yes” to you, He has given you a promise. I know you’re familiar with the word promise because you’ve made promises to people and people have made promises to you, too. Therefore, based upon your experience with others and yourself, you either have a positive or negative response when promised something.

God, however, is not like men. When God says yes to you, He means it as a promise. To me, the word yes means of course, absolutely, certainly, indeed, and by all means! When God says yes to you, He has given you His seal of approval, His affirmation, His endorsement. Therefore, don’t waver when the enemy of your soul brings up a “no” when God has already said YES!

God has provided all you need in this life through His Son Jesus Christ. And His Words found in the Bible detail every provision made for you. Each provision is a promise to you from God! You don’t have to beg God to do for you what He has promised to you. Second Corinthians 1:18, 20 says it this way: But as God is true, our word toward you was not yea and nay. 20 For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us. God is faithful and true. God is saying, “if I said it, it is so!” No matter what else you see, feel or may experience. According to Second Peter 1:2-4 God has supplied all you need to live successfully in this life.

Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our

Lord, 3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life

and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: 4

Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might

be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through

lust.

The scriptures above actually says that you already possess these promises. Since God said that you already possess them, then the next step is manifestation of them in your life—and in order to have the promises of God manifest in your life, you must increase your knowledge of God, and of Jesus, until the knowledge of who they are, and what they have provided to you and for you, abounds and flourishes in your heart.

Clearly, God has said yes regarding His promises, now you must accept His Words as truth!

Jesus said in John 6:63, “…. the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”

The words contained in the Bible are not mere words written by men. Rather, they are God’s Words filled with His Life! His Words are not natural coming from earth’s substance. No, His Words made everything that you see and everything that you don’t see. Hebrews 4:12 says,

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

God’s Word is alive and active. It is powerful and effectual. It goes to work to produce its desired will. Thus, everything bends, bows and succumbs to His Words. This is great news! It means His promises to you are indisputable! His Words are incorruptible—they won’t fall to the ground without production. First Peter 1:23 says, “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.”

God’s Words don’t decay, they are unable to perish, thus His Words are everlasting! Everything in this world is decaying and coming to an end. But you have been given Words, His promises to speak forth, and they can only produce God’s life, His will, and His divine purpose.

When you see God’s Words as His promises to you, you’ll never be tempted to accept a “no” from the devil or from any circumstance that may rear its ugly head at you. Begin to purposefully align your words with God’s promises to you and every area of your life that is not aligned with His promises will be conformed to His will.

His promises become your prophecy of the forthcoming manifestations of His Word in your life!

Realize that the only thing separating you from God’s promises to you is your mind - your unrenewed mind. Decide today to immerse yourself in the promises of God found in His Word and your thinking will change. The way you see things will change. Your joy will bubble up from the inside, you’ll be strengthened in spirit, and empowered to stand and, in time, you’ll take physical manifestation of what you possess by faith! So, begin to daily renew your mind and position yourself to obtain the perfect will of God. Romans 12:2 states:

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

As you embark on renovating your mind, remember to keep your focus on the eternal Word of God that abides forever!

2 Corinthians 4:17-18 (NLT)

For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! 18 So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.

Lastly, as you walk in faith towards the life that God planned for you remember that God is faithful promise keeper. First Kings 8:56 says, “Blessed be the LORD, that hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant.”

As God made promises to His people in the book of First Kings 8:56, He has made promises to you, too. So, REST! Rest in His promises and in the verity of His Word, and in time watch every aspect of your life align itself with the promises of God.

Expect God’s promises to manifest in your life!
