Thankful for the Blood!

As you spend time with family and friends celebrating this Thanksgiving season, don’t forget to thank God for the blood of Jesus!

Anyone who recognizes the price that Jesus paid for man, should always express gratitude and thankfulness towards God for the gift of His Son. For Jesus paid an incalculable price to set man free, and to provide them the benefits of salvation.

In scripture Jesus is called the Prince of Peace. He received this title because He was the bridge that united God and man. According to Colossians 1:20 seen below, Jesus laid the foundation to secure man’s reconciliation to God through His shed blood. Thus, making peace between God and man.

And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, [I say], whether [they be] things in earth, or things in heaven.

In addition, because of Jesus sacrifice man’s sins have been paid for and forgiven. Ephesians 1:7 says, “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; ….”

What you’ve already read is enough for you to be tremendously grateful and thankful to God. But there’s more Jesus’s blood provided you! His blood has redeemed you! Purchased you! And freed you from slavery to sin, and from Satan’s dominion.

Revelations 5:9 says, “And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; ….”

You are in the family of God because of Jesus sacrifice! But there’s more! His blood just didn’t redeem you, it also justified you! It made you righteous! It cleared you from the penalty and punishment of sin. It pardoned you and made you accepted in the beloved.

Therefore, you are in right standing with God, and your value is equivalent to the worth of Jesus blood according to Romans 5:9. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. Oh, praise God for the shed blood of Jesus!

But, that’s not all. His blood also made you peculiar. Special. Set apart as God’s very own. Hebrews 13:12 says, Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate. He sanctified you! You are consecrated and holy before God because of His shed blood!

Furthermore, on account of the blood of the Lamb, you have been made an overcomer! And as an overcomer, whatever may be troubling you today or causing you to experience feeling of defeat, will not win in your life! You must believe that. For God has made you a victor over the devil! Revelations 12:11 says, “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”

Consequently, boldly speak God’s word over your situations and circumstances expecting the blood of Jesus to shield and defend you in battle.

Lastly, with all self-assurance you may boldly approach the throne of God requesting His divine intervention on your behalf. This privilege was made available to you through Jesus atonement according to Hebrews 10:19 which says, “Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, ….” Therefore, take advantage of the privilege of prayer. Because Jesus blood was shed for such an awesome opportunity.

This Thanksgiving season remember Jesus. Remember His sacrifice. Focus and rely on what His blood has accomplished for you. You’ll find that the blood of Jesus has never lost its power!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
