The Word of God admonishes us to oppose the enemy. When we oppose the enemy, we stand and fight against his attacks, no matter what form they may come in. One of the most crucial ways of opposing the enemy is by allowing the knowledge and wisdom of God to prevail in our lives by knowing what to do, when to do it, as well as how to do it at all times. It is not until we have embraced knowledge and wisdom that we can be assured of the right strategy to use or stand against the enemy with, ultimately, being able to know and discern his every move. As the body of Christ, in 2 Corinthians 2:11 (KJV), we must not be ignorant of the enemy’s devices. Instead, we must remain sober and be vigilant always, 1 Peter 5:8 (KJV).
So, you may ask, “What are the strategies of the enemy?” Ultimately, the enemy wants to rob us of our faith by injecting fear into our lives through people or circumstances. In the following Scriptures, it mentions that the enemy is an adversary. An adversary is defined as someone who lies (which is a by-product of fear).
In John 8:44 (KJV), the enemy is referred to as the father of lies. Because there is no truth in him. Primarily, this is why we must be equipped with the Word of God in order to discern a truth from a lie. Be reminded that the enemy has one mission, which is to steal, kill, and destroy, according to John 10:10 (KJV). Therefore, we must consistently be on guard, watching and praying and supplicating in the Spirit always, becoming more sensitive to the Holy Spirit, as well as allowing Him to be our eyes and ears, showing us things to come, John 16:13 (KJV).
According to Hosea 4:6 (KJV), the Scripture reminds us that many are destroyed because they lack knowledge. Therefore, let us equip ourselves with the belt of truth, which is having knowledge, understanding, and revelation of the Word of God. It is not until we have knowledge with a practical understanding that we can operate in wisdom, standing in faith and resisting the devil while quenching every fiery dart and offensively attacking the enemy with the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God (prevailing against all the attacks from the enemy).
