God, The Healer!

I know that the title of this article seems unrevelatory because many people are aware that God is the Healer.  However, even though this truth is common knowledge amongst most people, the truth is, many people are living with some kind of pain, restrictions, sickness, and disease.  

Research shows that in Christendom nearly 70% of practicing Christians say they believe God heals today, and over 50% report that they have prayed for healing for themselves or for others.  Additionally, almost half of church attendees say they come forward for prayer during services when given the opportunity. These statistics from Barna Group, Pew Research Center, and Lifeway Research studies on Christian belief, prayer, and healing practices (2006-2021), are staggering!

Furthermore, in the United States nearly 60% of adults live with at least one chronic health condition and over 40% are managing two or more ongoing heath challenges. In addition, millions are also navigating emotional fatigue, stress, grief, and spiritual weariness according to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health promotion; U. S. Department of Health & Human Services (2018-2023).

But God never intended it to be this way.  Of course, He knew because of the fall of man, that sickness and disease would enter the world, but Jesus was the remedy for that problem.  So, man can actively and boldly pursue healing and health. 

Luke 13:10-17 gives an account of Jesus healing a woman which had a physical and spiritual condition for eighteen years and could not rise to a standing position.  She was in a synagogue while Jesus was teaching, and when He saw her, He loosed her from spiritual captivity, healed her body, and restored her from the chains and prison of infirmity and disease.  Well, this act of love is available to all people, and more specifically to Abraham’s children.  Luke 13:16 says, “And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?” 

And Galatians 3:26-29 says, “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.”

Now, this same healing and restorative power present in Biblical times, is still present today! For example, at Marie Diggs Ministries Healing School, we have experienced this power!  See below:

• Someone had a painful bump protruding from the bottom of their right foot, along with pain in their leg, while walking or climbing stairs.  And after attending Healing School for several weeks, the protruding bone disappeared and the pain left!

• Someone had been using a walker and cane for eight months due to the pain in their legs which caused them to limp while walking.  However, after leaving Healing School, the feeling of a band being tied around their knees had loosened, and they felt it fall off.  As a result, the pain is gone, and they are walking without a limp, and a walker or cane!
