Don't Panic!

Do not allow yourself to be overcome by the negative things happening in the world. Over 2000 years ago Jesus prophesied that these events would happen so that believers would not be taken by surprise. In the book of Matthew 24:6 -7 (TPT) Jesus said, “You will hear of wars nearby and revolutions on every side, with more rumors of wars to come. Don’t panic or give in to your fears, for the breaking apart of the world’s systems is destined to happen. But it won’t yet be the end; it will still be unfolding. “Nations will go to war against each other and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be terrible earthquakes—seismic events of epic proportion, horrible epidemics and famines in place after place. This is how the first contractions and birth pains of the new age will begin!”

Clearly, Jesus’ prophesy is in full bloom. Ethnic groups are rising up against ethnic groups, the world has been plagued with COVID-19, and the world’s systems are unraveling. However, in the midst of the chaos unfolding in the world, Jesus expects His followers not to fear, but to have peace.

A promise of peace was given to anyone who would believe upon Him. In John 14:27 (TPT) Jesus said, “I leave the gift of peace with you—my peace. Not the kind of fragile peace given by the world, but my perfect peace. Don’t yield to fear or be troubled in your hearts—instead, be courageous!” Jesus is encouraging believers to cling to the truth found in His Word and to allow His supernatural peace to invade their souls.

In the book of 2 Timothy Chapter One, the Apostle Paul also reminds believers not to allow themselves to be governed by fear, but rather to control their thoughts and actions. 2 Timothy 1:7 says, For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Governing your thoughts and emotions are key to a peace-filled life! Believers must learn to be Philippians 4:8 thinkers! And, in doing so, their thoughts will be filled with the truths of God’s Word. Then the realization that God has provided everything needful in this life through Christ Jesus, will ring true in their souls.

Today, make a decision of quality. Determine to only live in peace, and to rid yourself of fear!
