God’s living Word provides a firm foundation and security in troubled times. During times like these, it is very important to be anchored in God’s Word. Your faith in God and in His Word will cause you to steadfastly keep the faith and provide hope in the midst of trials.
Isaiah 26:3 says, Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
In times of crises, you must purposefully keep your mind focused on God and the promises found in His Word. In order to do so, you may have to limit the amount of time you spend taking in information about the current catastrophe facing our world. Isaiah 54:17 tells us that “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper;…” and Psalm 91:1 says He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
The word shadow in Psalm 91:1 in the Hebrew language means shade, defense, and protection. God is using this particular scripture to broadcast the fact that He alone is able to protect and deliver you in times like these. This portion of scripture also clearly paints the picture that all those who put their trust in Him will experience His ability to cover and shield them from evil.
When you receive God’s word regarding divine protection, by faith you automatically give yourself the gift of peace. His Word will keep you grounded and will prevent you from giving in to the spirit of fear and allowing your mind to think the worst.
Remember, God is faithful, and He can be trusted. Yes, He can be trusted to save your life from destruction. Psalm 103:3,4 says, “.… who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction;…” As you put your confidence in God the truth of His Word becomes a reality in your life. Your trust in Him allows you to experience His unending faithfulness towards you!
Furthermore, as you pray for our world, the leaders of nations, the military, scientists and medical professionals, also remember to pray for those who don’t know God the way that you do. Pray for them to cry out to God and receive His Son, Jesus, as Lord and Savior of their lives. Pray for them to know that God is not the author of disease, but that Satan is the author of anything that comes to kill, steal or destroy. John 10:10 says, The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Abundant life through Jesus is still available even in the midst of a storm. Therefore, I encourage you to allow the truths found in God’s Word to be the anchor for your soul.
