Appointments with God
Those who walk with God always reach their destination. ~Henry Ford
Apparently, Henry Ford’s time with God helped him to create a way to make the Model T car and a manufacturing assembly line which revolutionized the way that we live today. I believe that God had a divine strategy in operation that would eventually ensure that traveling by car would be a possibility for many people. And eventually, Ford’s idea changed the landscape of travel for America, and for the rest of the world.
I would call the production of the Model T car and the manufacturing assembly line revolutionary change, and I believe that God has revolutionary change on his mind for you too! Remember, God doesn’t discriminate. What He has done for others, He will also do for you!
I believe that deep down within your heart and soul, you desire to achieve something great and to leave your unique mark on this world. According to Henry Ford quote, this doesn’t happen haphazardly, but with direct intention. Purposely walking with God, purposely arranging appointments with Him.
This shouldn’t sound strange to you because you do it all the time. You schedule doctors’ appointments, work meetings, appointments to eat with the girls, appointments for your children, or, appointments just to hang out with the guys. Scheduling appointments is just a part of life. Your appointments almost always include a two-way conversation, where you are giving or receiving information.
Scheduling an appointment with God is no different. You show up and spend time speaking to Him from your heart, and then take the time to sit and listen for His voice of guidance. In time, you will begin to converse with God, and He will give you the perfect words to speak regarding the issues in your life, and for the desires that He has placed in your heart. People who have learned the art of walking with God dare not miss an appointment. Their experiences with God have taught them to value Him, and His wisdom, and the revelation knowledge that He shares, along with the insight, that only He who is Eternal, can give.
Moses can attest to the above statements made about God. In Exodus 33:11 (KJV) the scriptures say, “…And the LORD spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend.” WOW! God and Moses' relationship was defined as a friendship. That is huge! This means, that you too can develop a friendship with God. Remember, He doesn’t discriminate. He desires to spend time speaking with you as a friend too! He loves you and always has your best interest in mind. He is your Creator, and He knows exactly what He created you for, and He has given you the tools to accomplish it.
Take a moment and think about Henry Ford. Think about his vision. Where do you think it came from? I believe that he got it from God. What God chose him to carry out in the earth did not exist until he got the vision for it. However, everything needed to bring the vision into fruition was already in the earth. Who knew that before Henry Ford? God did. Who revealed it to Henry Ford? God did. Likewise, God desires to show you things that man has yet to discover, and He longs to reveal to you why you are in this earth at this time.
Can you answer the following questions? What has God gifted you with? What dream do you have that is yet discovered? What has God pre-designed for you to contribute to this world? What is your life’s purpose? The answers to these questions, and to many other questions that you have can be answered in your appointments with God.
Lastly, always remember this famous quote about God by C. L. Lewis, “To walk out of His will is to walk into nowhere.” God has a divine destination established for you. Make your appointments!
P.S. The most important appointment that you could ever make with God is the one where you decide to take Him up on His offer of salvation. This is done by believing that He loved you enough to make a way for you to come into His family, as His child. You get into the family by believing what He said about His Son, Jesus, and asking Him to come into your heart and to save you. God is longing for you to become a part of His family. Below is a scripture that explains how to receive Jesus in your heart.
Romans 10: 8-10, 13 (KJV)
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. [13] For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
